HOW IT WORKS

The DD3 Digital Dash accepts inputs for Engine RPM, Oil Pressure, Water Temperature and Battery Volts. The information is presented in a no fuss, uncluttered way on a neat, compact display.

The display has an array of 8 LED's which constantly indicate Engine RPM. The LED's can be programmed to start and stop at any RPM, enabling them to operate accurately within a narrow RPM band. The LCD display can be selected to display any channel, i.e. RPM, Oil Pressure etc. The channel is selected by pressing a button on the side of the display. Alternatively a separate button can be wired in and mounted on the steering wheel.

Each of the three analogue channels (oil, water and voltage) have alarms, which when triggered will indicate to the driver when a parameter has exceeded a preset value. The alarms are constantly being monitored, irrespective of which channel is being displayed on the LCD. When an alarm is triggered the display automatically reverts to that channel and the LED's (and Shift Light if fitted) flash to catch the attention of the driver. Pressing the button cancels the alarm and the out of parameter channel is displayed on the LCD.

An electrical output is provided to operate either an external Shift Light or Radiator Fan (via a relay).

The oil pressure channel has the option of connecting an oil pressure switch instead of an oil pressure sensor. The oil pressure alarm is not monitored below 3000 RPM allowing the use of a high pressure switch, without the alarm being triggered at tickover.

The brightness of the LED's can be adjusted from the display. An optional backlit version of the DD3 is also offered. On this version, an input is provided turn on the LCD backlight for night time use. Applying 12 volts (possibly from the headlamps) will automatically dim the LED's as well as backlight the LCD.

Supplied with the wiring loom which connects to a 9 pin D-type connector on the rear of the display, it is both easy to install and setup.

The water temperature sensor is not included and must be ordered separately.
