HOW IT WORKS

The DT64tt combines a Digital Tachometer with maximum recall function, together with a series of 8 programmable Shift Lights. In addition the Maximum RPM can be logged in memory up to 64 times when an external button is pressed. Powered by the 12 volts from the car or bike, it will function on most four stroke 1,2,4,5,6 or 8 cylinder engines with inductive ignition coils. The numeric display operates in two distinct modes:-

NORMAL MODE:-

In normal mode the LCD displays the instantanious engine RPM. When the external logging button is pressed, the maximum RPM since the last press is stored in memory.

TELL-TALE MODE:-

In this mode the LCD displays the maximum RPM since the last time the button was pressed. When the button is pressed, the display resets and the maximum RPM is stored in memory.

Up to 64 maximum reading can be stored and the ablolute maximum can also be displayed. The readings are retained in memory when the power is removed and are cleared when the unit is powered up again and the engine started.

The 8 LED's can be programmed to start and stop at any RPM enabling them to function over a very narrow RPM band. The LED's are programmed from the display allowing very precise setting of the RPM at which the LED's are turned on.

The brightness of the LED's can be adjusted from the display. An optional backlit version of the DT64tt is also offered. On this version, an input is provided to turn on the LCD backlight for night time use. Applying 12 volts to this input (possibly from the headlamps) will also automatically dim the LED's.
